According to recent claims from a whistleblower, the convicted associate of Jeffrey Epstein, currently serving a two-decade sentence for sex-trafficking crimes, is reportedly preparing a clemency request for consideration by the Trump administration.

Preferential Handling Alleged at Correctional Facility

House Democrats on the judicial oversight panel revealed that a whistleblower provided information indicating Maxwell is working on the clemency petition. They also stated she has been receiving special treatment at the federal prison camp in the Lone Star State.

Congressman Jamie Raskin, the ranking member on the committee, stated in a news release that the facility's chief was “helping” Maxwell with document preparation and submission to aid her effort for clemency.

The exact content of the clemency request remain unclear, the congressman noted.

Alleged Privileges and Custom Arrangements

The representative claims that, according to the whistleblower, Maxwell has been given specially prepared food that are hand-delivered to her cell, and the supervisor has individually organized private meetings for her and her guests.

These meetings allegedly include a designated private space for visitors and a variety of food and drinks for her guests.

Maxwell’s visitors were also reportedly permitted to carry electronic devices, which Raskin described as an “unprecedented action” given the potential danger and chance of unmonitored communications.

Reportedly on one occasion, when communications failed for other prisoners, she was given specific instructions about who she should tell her contacts to call and how staff would connect the communication to her.

Warden as “Personal Secretary”

The source also allegedly told House Democrats that when Maxwell wanted to review and edit documents “quickly”, she reportedly employed the official as her “personal secretary and administrative assistant”.

The news release indicates that those writing to her would send files directly to the supervisor, who would hand them over to the inmate, for her to examine and change and provide them back to the warden to digitize and send to the original sender.

Extra Benefits Reported

Further perks allegedly granted to her include opportunities to interact with a trainee assistance dog – a benefit not “ordinarily allowed” – as well as private after-hours access to the facility's gym.

Her legal counsel did not immediately respond to a inquiry regarding the insider's allegations.

Through a spokesperson, the presidential office said that it “will not discuss” on possible pardon appeals.

“Per the President's remarks, pardoning Ghislaine Maxwell is not something he has considered,” the spokesperson added.

Recent Background

Recently, reports surfaced that Maxwell told friends and family in emails from prison that she was more content at the Texas facility than her previous prison.

This past summer, she was moved from a secure facility in Florida's capital to the minimum-security camp in Texas, where most inmates are serving time for non-violent offenses and white-collar crimes.

The transfer, which experts described as exceptional, occurred just days after she was questioned about the Jeffrey Epstein investigation by the senior justice official, the official, who also once acted as the President's private attorney.

That interview came as the administration was facing increasing scrutiny to disclose additional files related to the ongoing probe and amid intense speculation around the President's own personal ties to the disgraced financier and convicted sex offender, who was found dead in a New York jail in that year while facing trial on trafficking accusations.

Lawmaker Reactions

Through the statement, Raskin also announced that he had sent a letter to the President, requesting explanations about the insider's claims, and urged the chief executive to deny Maxwell’s commutation request.

“You should not grant any type of pardon to this adjudicated and remorseless sex offender,” Raskin wrote in the document. “Your Administration should not be providing her with room service, with puppies to play with, with government agents attending to her requests, or with any preferential handling or facility benefit at all.”

The congressman asked that Blanche appear for a open legislative session to address the disclosures and also presented several inquiries to the President.

He inquired whether he had talked about a possible clemency for Maxwell with Blanche or others, whether he had instructed Blanche or anyone else to arrange her with the transfer or special conditions in detention, and whether she, her lawyers, family or representatives have made any commitments to Trump or his attorneys.

Raskin has asked for a reply to the questions by the specified date.

Last month, the US supreme court rejected an appeal from the convict on her sex-trafficking conviction.
